The following is the Windsor Square Association monthly column published in the Larchmont Chronicle, written by WSA Board Member Fred Rheinstein.

IMPORTANT HPOZ UPDATE

On February 7, 2007, the City Council acted on the court order to repeal the ordinance and then immediately, by unanimous vote, imposed a moratorium on Windsor Square while the City acts to satisfy the deficiencies cited by the court. This moratorium does not prevent permits from being issued, but enables design review to continue as a part of the building permit process .

The WSA is fully supportive of the steps necessary to reinstate the HPOZ and Preservation Plan. The Plan has been successfully implemented for the past year, and it is critically important that it be re-approved as soon as possible.

You have received notice from the Los Angeles Department of City Planning that there is a Public Hearing scheduled as part of the re-approval process. Please plan to attend the

City Planning Commission,
Thursday March 22, 2007, after 8:30AM

City Hall Room 1010,
200 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012

We need your help in supporting the re-adoption of the Windsor Square HPOZ and Preservation Plan. We are calling on Windsor Square residents to demonstrate your support by signing and returning the card that you recently received in the mail, and attending the upcoming Public Hearing.

Transportation for this hearing will be provided by the WSA.
If you want to reserve a space on the bus or have any questions please email us at preservation@windsorsquare.org or leave a message @ 323-878-2202 and your call will be returned.
